    Dear Authors,

In the dynamic field of surgery, urologists have been the pioneers in adopting laparoscopic and robot-assisted interventions. This journey of innovation began in 1976 with the first diagnostic laparoscopy for bilateral abdominal cryptorchidism, which set the stage for the rapid integration of this minimally invasive approach into a variety of procedures. The 2000 introduction of the da Vinci robotic platform represented another significant milestone, bringing enhanced precision, dexterity, and ergonomics, as well as magnified 3D visualization. More recently, the field has taken another leap forward with the development of single-port robotic surgery. However, despite these advancements, there is still ongoing debate regarding the comparative impact of robotic versus laparoscopic technologies on perioperative outcomes, with concerns about costs and the challenges associated with global adoption. This special issue brings together a diverse array of studies and expert opinions to offer a comprehensive overview of both, laparoscopic and robotic surgery in Urology. Through this lens, we encourage readers to consider critical questions such as: Does robot-assisted surgery provide significant advantages over laparoscopy? How do the costs of these technologies affect their adoption in healthcare systems? And what future advancements can we anticipate for minimally invasive urological surgeries? By addressing these essential questions, this issue aims to provide valuable insights and guidance for urologists, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care and refining surgical practices in urology.

    Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.antpublisher.com through the online submission system. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, Review articles as well as Therapeutic Brief are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. UTJ is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by ANT.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. Considering limited grants for some researchers,  Prof. Jihad Kaouk and Dr. Adreana Pedraza and the editorial office made the decision that Article Processing Charges will be fully exempted, which means that there is  NOT any manuscript processing or publication fees  for your article once accepted after standard peer-review.
